Zoë Bakes Cakes Sweepstakes

Each winner will receive:

I’ve been baking versions of this cake since 1986, when I was an art student at the University of Vermont in Burlington. While working as a photography assistant where we were photographing a woman with her zucchini bounty, I became transfixed by the deep, dark chocolate cake we were photographing. Not until I had convinced the baker to send the cake and recipe home with me did she reveal that the secret ingredient was, indeed, zucchini. Although I have since lost her original recipe, the recipe I created for the book matches my memory perfectly. Now you’ll have the chance to create this beautiful cake with all these amazing supplies.

  1. Zöe, I got a copy of your book for my birthday two weeks ago and am very excited about the delicious looking recipes. Just made the beet cake this week and have gotten rave reviews. My question is…with a Miele oven would you stick to bake with your recipes or convection bake? Also, is there any way a person can get those extra recipes that were offered pre publication date? I just missed by days! In your book you mentioned Gold Medal flour – not sure if you also support using King Arthur’s as well. Thanks again!

    1. Hi Wendy! Definitely stick with ‘bake’ rather than convection, unless otherwise specified in the recipe. Zoe does often use King Arthur flour as well! Unfortunately the bonus recipes are no longer available. Happy baking!

    1. Amazing looking cake! I really pray I win! I’ll definitely put all the prizes to good use! Congratulations Zoe on your new book! ❤

    2. Yay! This is so exciting! Thanks for the opportunity! I love following you…glad I found your blog!

    3. I live to bake goodies for my family.
Zoe I love all your recipes and so do
      all of my guys.
Would love to win a copy of your book.

    1. I love Zoe’s bread book, have used it for years. Also love Nordicware products! Looks like a fun package of treasures.

  2. Seriously, all your desserts look beautiful. I wish I could make my desserts as gorgeous as yours.

  3. What a spectacular giveaway! Your gorgeous book! My favorite King Arthur Baking Co! Valrhona! Vermont Creamery deliciousness! And my beloved NordicWare! Fingers-crossed! 🙂

  4. I’m assuming it is open only to USA? Anyway, I’ll be sure to make this cake regardless, looks unbelievable

    1. I bought your book as soon as it was available. Couldn’t wait to get into the wonderful recipes. Would love to win the ingredients, cookware and a signed copy of your book!

  5. LOVE YOUR RECIPES!!!! The first episode of your show was so fun to watch and I’m now excited to try making a lattice pie!!!

  6. I love Bundt cakes! The Nordic factory is like going to the candy store (just a few miles from my house)

  7. I grow zucchini and can’t wait to try this recipe! I hope I’m a winner as I am sure this cake will be!

  8. Even though we’re a gluten free family, I’d love to win and work on getting great results with substituting GF flour!

  9. Our zucchini has just sprouted in the basement so we will be looking forward to using this year’s crop in this cake. It’s been years since I baked with zucchini but I do remember the remarkable moistness it lends.

  10. Very cool giveaway! My wife just purchased “Zoe Bakes Cakes” and is currently baking cover to cover through the recipes. So far all our friends and family are THOROUGHLY on board with this decision 🙂

Best luck to everyone entering! May the best up-and-coming baker win! 🙂

  11. Zoe, I saw one show of yours on HGTV, saved it to my favorites, and that was the only show . . . two weeks ago. This is the show for which I’ve been searching for years. Please advise of any upcoming shows. In the meantime, I’ll try to contact HGTV to ask where it is, since I had difficulty trying to do this right after I saw your show.

    1. Hi Fran! We are so glad you enjoyed the first episode. There are 10 more episodes coming to Magnolia Network later this summer. As soon as they’re available, Zoë will be sure to let everyone know!

  12. Hi, I love your book but haven’t baked any yet because I am unsure of their shelf life. Which of the cakes can I keep in room temperature the longest? Can I keep the bundt cakes with glaze long without refrigeration? Thank you!

    1. Hi Ellen, great question! Any cake that doesn’t have whipped cream, custard or a filling that requires refrigeration will work well. Buttercream, ganache and many others can be left out. Bundts for sure. Most cake is best eaten at room temperature. Victoria sponge is very best left at room temp, but fill with cream at the last minute. I hope this helps!

  13. I binge watched you on Magnolia Network and have fallen in love with all your creations. I never used to have a sweet tooth, but I guess as we get older that changes! I just saw your tropical desserts and I just am amazed at how beautiful your creations are. I am in the Caribbean and it is mango season, so I think I am going to attempt the Mango tart, although it is really hard to make a decision on which one to try first. We get California strawberries, so they aren’t great right now, but we do have passion fruit, so that is going on my list to do very soon also, along with several others.

  14. Zoe, your technique on baking is so wonderful.
You are so honest and simplifies every thing that you have made on your shows. This helps everyone of so many ages young and old that yes they to could bake to. Your personality and your family and friends adore you so much. I wish one day to meet you and to have you sign one of your cookbooks.
